Multi-Nation Expert Panel Agrees On Biomarkers of Aging

For the first time, a multi-nation panel of aging experts reached a consensus to designate markers of aging, which could make aging intervention testing easier.

Participants: Middle-aged adults carrying two copies of the APOE4 gene 
Dosage: 1 mg/kg/day of rapamycin for 4 weeks

The prescription drug rapamycin a.k.a. sirolimus, an FDA-approved mTOR inhibitor, increases the brain volume of cognitively normal individuals at risk for developing Alzheimer’s disease.

Dosage: 1 gram of omega-3s (330 mg EPA plus 660 mg DHA) per day, 2,000 IU of vitamin D per day, and 30 minutes of strength training exercises three times per week
