Biotech Startup Aims to Harness New NAD+-Related Drug Against Aging

The longevity biotech company, MetaShape, has a new compound designed to restore cellular nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) and offset elevated cholesterol, cognitive decline, and neurodegeneration.

Researchers have identified government-approved drugs that are associated with a lower risk of mortality.

NAD+ is not the same as vitamin B3. However, NAD+ is considered the bioactive form of vitamin B3 because vitamin B3 is converted to NAD+ in the body. 


The main purpose of vitamin B3 is to maintain NAD+ levels.
